asterix: the comic i love most...

Title
Asterix and Getafix

Asterix is the comic I love most of them all. The story is about a little village, called Gaul, in the ancient Roman empire, but could not be dominated by Julius Caesar. He and his army try to capture the town, but always fail. The heroes of our story are Asterix, the vice little worrier, Obelix, his best friend, and Getafix, the village druid. (actually, everybody in the village are heroes, in usual sense...)

obelixAsterix is very cunning and very brave, and is the most intelligent person in the village, save the druid. His friend, Obelix is not so much intelligent (he is so simple and straightforward) , but he also is a brave person. The village gets it's extra human strength by drinking the magic portion, brewed by the druid Getafix. Since Obelix has fallen in to a pot of portion in his little age, he has a permanent strength, and is not allowed to drink any more, however he likes it.

Obelix's little dog, Dogmatix is another popular character in the cartoon, and always travels with Asterix and Obelix.. The village chief is Vitalstatix, who also is fearless, and cool. but there is only one thing that fears him; He thinks, one day, the sky may fall down on his head.

Chief

He always travels in his official 'vehicle', a shield carried by two men. Sometimes his wife takes the shield for her shopping.

The main food of the villagers, specially Obelix, is wild boar. Obelix always carries a menhir (he is a menhir maker) when his hands are empty.

caesarThe enemy of the village is Julius Caesar, the Roman Emperor. He, and roman army have a hard time trying to attack the indomitable Gaulish village, using every tactic they can think of.

It's very funny seeing how Asterix and friends treat the the Roman Army. Even if you haven't seen the books, you can still get an idea!

There is a lot to it, and you can find more information at Asterix Official Website.
